Student Assessment - Sierra

  October 27, 2010

I have had the pleasure to work with a darling little girl by the name of "Sierra".  In the classrroom, Sierra has made me smile many times!  On a typical day, I would consider Sierra to be a "self-starter".  Although there have been  days where Sierra just wants some "undivided attention".  And it is at these times where she may ask for clarification or assistance  with her school work :)

Sierra was so eager to help me with my Student Portfolio Assessment Assignment.  She quickly finished her center work, so that we could spend time together outside--talking, reading--and for me, assessing!

This book is a 1.3 Reading Level.

Sierra enjoys reading!  Her favorite book is "Jack and Annie".  She likes this books because she enjoys "adventures and cool stuff".  Sierra says she likes to watch Sponge Bob on T.V., because he makes her laugh.  She has a T.V. in her bedroom, and enjoys watching Sponge Bob after school.  Her favorite hobby is "drawing".  Sierra has shared with me a few of her "works of art". so I have included them on this page!  Sierra tells me that she has only visited the public library once, and this experience was with her mom.  She also shared with me that she wants to go back again!  As for Sierra's other exposure to print, she likes to look at advertisements and magazines--she finds toys, clothes, and food most interesting to look at when brousing through this form of literature.

Sierra writes complete sentences, with appropriate capitalization and punctuation!

Sierra created her own "connect to dots" worksheet!
